Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) is excited to introduce you to trauma informed-lawyering as you launch your career! As you consider working with survivors of traumatic experience, it is important to know that a history of overlapping traumatic events can affect a client's participation in the justice system, even when that history is seemingly extraneous to the case. While law school may have prepared you to navigate the laws governing your client’s case, many law school students and attorneys are unfamiliar with the skills required to work with clients that have gone through trauma. Learn some of the basics of being trauma-informed and learn how to better support clients who are survivors of traumatic experiences!
