2020 has been an anomalous year in so many ways! Thanks to NVRDC supporters like you, we have been able to pivot at each turn and continue to support DC survivors. Your continued contributions throughout this year have directly affected the lives of crime victims in our nation’s capital. This giving season, consider making your most meaningful gift of the year—a contribution to a DC survivor’s healing and justice that supports your community.

In 2020, we were so proud to work with over 600 crime victims. Despite the risk of COVID-19, our advocates maintained in-person services for sexual assault survivors; responding to MedStar Washington Hospital Center 164 times from March to September. With the addition of hazard pay and the generosity of our supporters, we were able to keep our hospital advocacy program running and keep providing direct services to DC survivors. In FY20, our legal team also assisted 301 crime victims with 174 legal matters, All the while, leading an effort to put survivors’ rights at the center of emergency release proceedings.

Our three core values continue to serve as a beacon of stability and hope which enabled us to endure and continue to empower DC survivors.

Equity and Allyship. Recognizing the important intersection between violence and racial justice, NVRDC has introduced an organizational framework guided by anti-oppression and racial equity, including new ways (6).png

The need for NVRDC is not slowing and we rely on your support to sustain our ability to do this work. We have an ambitious goal to raise $500,000 throughout our three-year Capital Campaign. We cannot reach our 2021 goal without your investment!

Wishing you and yours a warm, safe, and cozy holiday season!
