NVRDC's 11th Annual Benefit: Rise & Reimagine

  • NVRDC 6856 Eastern Avenue NW, Suite 376 Washington, DC 20012 United States (map)

Join us for an evening of celebration at Williams & Connolly's new offices at The Wharf on Thursday, November 3rd. Come and network with like-minded individuals including folks from law firms, government, nonprofits, and many other sectors!

This year's keynote speaker will be Meleana "Mana" Shim, a former professional soccer player for the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and an advocate for social change. Shim came forward with allegations of sexual harassment and abuse in women’s sports and her story became part of a catalyst for institutional change across the NWSL, including the adoption of anti-harassment policies in April 2021.

We also will be celebrating this year's winners of various NVRDC awards, including the winner of our Champion Award, Councilmember Janeese Lewis George. NVRDC has chosen Councilmember Lewis George, a native Washingtonian, due to her willingness to explore more holistic notions of public safety, her support of survivor-centered legislation, and her advocacy for transparency in oversight of victim service organizations. We are very grateful to have her as a champion for survivors at the DC Council.

We look forward to seeing you at this special event and hope that you can come and learn how to support DC survivors.
